No Name Calling Week
January 24-January 28, 2011

"No Name Calling Week" focused on anti-bullying strategies that should be implemented during a conflict situation. The week was filled with a variety of activities in order to reinforce the importance of appropriate conflict resolution skills and providing others with "put ups" and compliments.

The variety of activities throughout the week included the following: a poster contest representing treating others respectfully (schoolwide); an advice column where the students discussed how specific situations should be handled (grades 4 &5); a scavenger hunt to find a positive school wide saying (grades K-3); theatric skits which focused on resolving common problems among the elementary population (school wide) - this was conducted by Mickayla Moore and our 5th grade peer helpers. The week of activities was coordinated by the South Elementary Guidance Staff.

"No Name Calling Week" was a huge success. Many thanks to our students and faculty for participating!
